Best bet is Thursday 15 October from 17:30 to 20:00, when the flood has been running for about three hours, the light is failing at dusk, and a light SSW breeze keeps the sea moderate on mid tides. Wednesday evening 14 October from 18:00 to 20:00 is a close second on springs with the same flood timing, but watch the 1 m-plus swell on Thursday if the wind picks up.
