Terms of use
Tidefinder helps you plan when to fish. It isn't a navigation or safety tool. Last updated 13 October 2026.
Not for navigation
- Tide times, heights, weather and sea forecasts on Tidefinder are for planning a fishing trip only. Don't use them for navigation, boating, or deciding whether it's safe to be on the shore, a pier or the water.
- Tide predictions can be wrong, and real tides are moved by wind, air pressure and river flow. Times from our sea model can be up to an hour out, more in estuaries.
- Always check an official tide table, the Met Office forecast and local signs before you go.
Your safety
- You're responsible for your own safety and anyone with you. Fishing from the shore can be dangerous: watch for fast incoming tides, soft mud, slippery rocks, large waves and being cut off.
- Mark locations can be approximate, and access, paths and rules change. We don't check that a mark is safe, legal or open to the public. Respect closures, private land and local byelaws.
- Tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back. In an emergency at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
Scores and reports
- Scores are our best guess from tides, weather, season and published research. They don't promise fish.
- Angler reports, local answers and club results come from other people. We don't check them all, and they may be out of date.
Our responsibility
- We provide Tidefinder as it is, for free, and can't promise it will always be available, complete or accurate.
- As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for any loss, damage or injury from using it or relying on it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
