Why this time?
Tide: 3h into the floodFish feed at particular stages of the tide, when moving water stirs up food and lets them into the shallows.
Light: DarkMany sea fish feed hardest at dawn, dusk and after dark, when they're bolder close in.
Moon: Dark, little moonOn dark nights many fish feed more confidently close in. A bright moon can put them off.
Tide size: Mid tidesBigger spring tides move more water, stirring up food and colouring the water. Some fish prefer quieter neaps.
Season: Peak season in OctoberCounts whichever fish here is most in season.
Wind: Light SW 4 mphLight enough to fish comfortably, so it costs nothing.
Sea: Flat calm (0.2 m waves)Not fussy about sea state unless it gets rough.
Water: Sea 15.1°CComfortable between 4 and 22°C, best around 11.5°C.
